Planning on traveling outside the country?
Many insurance plans don’t extend coverage for accidents or illnesses outside the United States. In the event of a medical emergency or evacuation, travel medical insurance covers medical costs and emergency transportation, along with emergency dental treatment (depending on the specific plan). Travel medical plans also often include some Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) and/or term life benefits, which are paid regardless of any standard health coverage you have for a covered injury. The plans are priced based on age, trip length and coverage amount, usually adding up to a few dollars a day. Bonus: some medical plans also offer a few trip benefits such as minimal trip interruption coverage and coverage for lost or delayed baggage and trip delays.
