Interruptions, looming deadlines and busy seasons can zap your energy and send your stress levels skyrocketing before lunchtime.
Put your stressors in check with these quick, simple tips to feel calm(er) at the office:
Schedule a 60-second daily chill break.
Set an alarm on your phone for the middle of the day. When the alarm goes off, step away from your desk and just relax. Take some deep breaths, sip some of your favorite tea, or just close your eyes and zen out. When your 60 seconds are up and you return to what you were doing, you’ll feel refreshed and calmer.
Decorate your workspace.
Add some personality to your workspace — a few photos and a few pops of primary colors (red, yellow and blue) can do wonders for productivity and eliminating stress. Make your space a place that helps you feel energized.
Sit (and stand) up straight.
Slouching will make you feel like, well, a slouch. If you can, spend some time standing up. A good rule of thumb would be to stand every time you drink something at your desk.
